Get ready to learn how to support friends and family with mental health challenges in this hands-on training!

Join us for an engaging, in-person Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training. This interactive course will equip you with practical skills to recognize when someone may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge and how to offer meaningful initial support.

Whether you’re supporting a friend, family member, colleague, or community member, this training will build your confidence and capacity to respond with care.

In this training, you will learn how to:

  • Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges
  • Respond effectively to someone experiencing a crisis
  • Connect individuals to appropriate professional and community resources
  • Help reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges

Upon successful completion, you will receive an MHFA certification valid for three years.

The training includes one 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks. Lunch will be provided by Tacoma Housing authority for participants of this training.
