Get ready to learn how to support friends and family with mental health challenges in this hands-on training!
Join us for an engaging, in-person Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training. This interactive course will equip you with practical skills to recognize when someone may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge and how to offer meaningful initial support.
Whether you’re supporting a friend, family member, colleague, or community member, this training will build your confidence and capacity to respond with care.
In this training, you will learn how to:
- Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges
- Respond effectively to someone experiencing a crisis
- Connect individuals to appropriate professional and community resources
- Help reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges
Upon successful completion, you will receive an MHFA certification valid for three years.
The training includes one 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks. Lunch will not be provided, please bring your own lunch.
Training will be held in-person at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park. Parking is Free.
**Registration for this course does not include access to the park. All participants will be required to remain in designated areas while on site. Northwest Trek Wildlife Park will be closed to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning October 5th.
